April 17, 2006

Hattiesburg, MS---The LSUS Pilots jumped out to a 9-1 lead Friday night over the William Carey College Crusaders after Dustin Bissonnette belted a 3rd inning grand slam. The Crusaders however stormed back and took game one by a final score of 14-11. Despite leading in both games of Saturday’s double-header, the Pilots suffered a 4-3 loss in game one, and dropped game three by a final score of 5-4.

The Pilots have now dropped out of first place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and currently sit in a tie for second place with the University of Mobile at 14-10; two games behind the Belhaven College Blazers who currently sit at 16-8 in the GCAC.

LSUS will look to make some ground on the Blazers this upcoming weekend as they play host to BC in a three game series with game one beginning Friday night at 6:30pm.
