Bulldogs Take a Bite Out of the Pilots
November 12, 2003
The LSUS men's basketball team looked to even the score with Jarvis Christian College of Hawkins, Texas Tuesday night after the Lady Bulldogs had defeated the Lady Pilots in the afternoon game. The night-cap however proved to be much of the same as the Bulldogs defeated the Pilots 103-84.
In the first half it was all Bulldogs as they built a 17 point lead by half-time. The second half became a game of stretches, one of which saw LSUS down by as little as seven points. Demarion Crite and the Bulldog offence proved to be too strong in the end however. Crite finished with a game high 33 points, followed by Frank Corbett who had 22. Derrick Sowell finished with 23 points for the Pilots. Teammate Rico Payne finished with 19.
Jarvis Christian College improved their record to 2-1 while dropping the Pilots to 1-2 on the season. Tuesday night concluded the three game road swing for LSUS to begin the year. They will be back in action again next Tuesday, November 18, when they will face Texas College in their first game of the year on their home-court. Tip-off is 7:30 in the LSUS gymnasium.
