Brouillette Earns Weekly GCAC Honor

February 26, 2009

SHREVEPORT, La. - LSUS sophomore catcher Andrew Brouillette has been named the GCAC Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 22, announced today (Feb. 26) by the league's office.

Brouillette led the Pilots to four victories last week, while smashing 3 home runs and driving in 15 runs. He hit for the cycle in the first game of the Tougaloo series and finished off the weekend with a six RBI performance on Saturday.

The 2009 GCAC Preseason Player of the Year has certainly lived up to that billing through the first month of the season. Brouillette currently leads the Pilots in batting average (.540), hits (34), doubles (9), triples (3), total bases (64), slugging percentage (1.016), and on-base percentage (.651).

The award is the second GCAC Player of the Week award for Brouillette this season.
