    WACO, Texas -- Kyle Pearson of LSU Shreveport (La.) was named Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for April 1-7.

    Pilots crush SAGU to complete series sweep

    WAXAHACHIE, Tex. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots (27-13, 12-8 RRAC) pounded the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Lions (14-27, 4-16 RRAC) taking both games of Saturday's double header outscoring the Lions 29-1 with final scores of 15-1 in game one and 14-0 in game two at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. The Pilots hitters were clicking on all cylinders Saturday as they pounded a total of 38 hits in 14 innings with 18 in the first game and 20 in the series finale. Kyle Pearson led the Pilots at the plate going 7-for-8 with 9 rbis.

    SAGU forfeits first game of series with Pilots

    WAXAHACHIE, Tex. - Due to unforeseen circumstances with the Southwestern Assemblies of God University Baseball program, SAGU has chosen to forfeit one of the three games originally scheduled against the LSU Shreveport Pilots this weekend. The series will now consist of just two games both scheduled now for a double header on Saturday beginning at noon at SAGU. The double header will be two seven inning games.

    Pilots take down no. 15 Southern Arkansas

    MAGNOLIA, Ark. - K. J. Semien's two-run single to center in the top of the eighth inning lifted the Pilots past NCAA's DII no. 15 Southern Arkansas Muleriders 8-7 on Tuesday afternoon at Goodheart Field in non-conference action.

    Tuesday's game at SAU moved to 3 PM

    MAGNOLIA, Ark. - Due to the forecast of rain for Tuesday night, April 2, the single nine-inning game between Southern Arkansas and LSU Shreveport will begin at 3 p.m. instead of the original 6 p.m. start. This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season with SAU winning 10-5 at Pilot Field back on February 19.
