    Musgraves adds more accolades after 2012 season

    SHREVEPORT, La. - LSU Shreveport's Head Baseball Coach Rocke Musgraves added three Coach of the Year Awards to his resume' following a remarkable 2012 season as he led his Pilots to an impressive 54 wins and only six losses in which five of those losses were by one run. Musgraves was named the Diamond Coach of the Year, ABCA Regional Coach of the Year and Red River Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

    Two former Pilots ink pro contracts

    SHREVEPORT, La. - It did not take long for a couple of professional baseball teams to pick a pair of for LSU Shreveport Pilots. The Amarillo Sox snagged one of the top Pilot starting pitchers from the 2012 season as they signed Matt Lackie a few weeks ago. Jake Kight signed a contract today with the Edinburg Road Runners of the United League.

    Pearson, Mortensen, Friesen earn LSWA honors

    Kyle Pearson and Jared Mortensen were selected by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association to the First Team for their performance during the 2012 season while Greg Friesen was selected as the state's Newcomer of the Year.

    Pearson, Mortensen, Hobbins named All-Americans

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2012 Baseball All-America teams, selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) All-America Selection Committee. Kyle Pearson and Jared Mortensen were named to the First Team while Stephen Hobbins claimed Honorable Mention honors all representing LSU Shreveport. Pearson was also named to the Rawlings Gold Glove Team being one of only nine players to receive the award in the country.

    2012 Avista-NAIA World Series All-Tournament Team Announced

    LSU Shreveport Pilots were well represented in the All-Tournament Team for the Avista-NAIA World Series. Greg Friesen (1B) and Jared Mortensen (SP) were named to the All-Tournament Team while Kade Billeaudeaux got the Charles Berry Hustle Award. LSU Shreveport was also the team selected for the Hank Burbridge Champions of Character Team Award for their outstanding sportsmanship.
