Lackie pitches Pilots past no. 7 Cumberland
JACKSON, Miss. - Matt Lackie picked up his second win of the season as the no. 6 LSU Shreveport Pilots blanked the no. 7 Cumberland Bulldogs 9-0 in the Belhaven Invitational at Smith-Wills Stadium on Friday afternoon.

JACKSON, Miss. - The no. 6 LSU Shreveport Pilots got as many hits as they did runs on Thursday afternoon in route to a 12-2 win over the no. 21 Southern Poly Hornets in eight innings at Smith-Wills Stadium in the Belhaven Invitational.

Gonsoulin named RRAC Player of the Week
WACO, Tex. - Ridge Gonsoulin of LSU Shreveport and Alex Padilla of Texas Wesleyan University were selected as the first Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Co-Players of the Week for the 2012 season, while Rory Young of the University of Texas-Brownsville collected the RRAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week award for the dates of Jan.30-Feb. 5.

Pilots dominate William Carey for series sweep
SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team got off to the kind of start that every team would like to with a double header win to start the season. The Pilots won the first game with a good out from starting pitcher Matt Lackie as they defeated the William Carey Crusaders 7-1 in game one while having an eight-strikeout performance from Jared Mortensen to lead the Pilots to an 11-1 win in game two.

LSUS Baseball Opening Series moved to begin Saturday
SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Shreveport baseball season will have to wait one more day to begin the season than originally planned. The series will now begin on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 4, at Pilot Field against the William Carey Crusaders with the first pitch of the season at 4 p.m. to begin a double header and the series will conclude on Sunday with a single game at 1 p.m. due to the threat of rainy weather on Friday.
