PINEVILLE, La. - A day after the LSU Shreveport Pilots soared to no. 2 in the nation they took down the Louisiana Wildcats at Wildcat Stadium 5-1 in what turned into a pitcher's duel for the bullpens on Wednesday night.

Baseball: Pilots soar to no. 2 in the NAIA Top 25
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The LSU Shreveport Pilots improved four spots when the first regular season NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll was released on Tuesday afternoon to no. 2 in the nation. The Pilots were tabbed no. 6 in the preseason top 25 poll and are now 26-3 overall on the season. LSUS received three first place votes in this edition of the nation's top 25.

WACO, Texas - Kyle Pearson of LSU Shreveport stood out as the Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for March 19-25, while Matt Lackie of LSUS and Clayton Woodruff of Northwood University (Texas) received RRAC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors for the same dates.

Norris, Pearson charge Pilots past HTU for series sweep
SHREVEPORT, La. - Logan Norris tossed his first complete game of the year allowing just four hits as he shutout the Huston-Tillotson Rams behind a dominating performance by Kyle Pearson who drove in eight of the 16 runs in a 16-0 series sweeping win on Sunday afternoon at Downs Field.

Pilots move into first place after a double header sweep of HTU
AUSTIN, Tex. - The no. 6 LSU Shreveport Pilots picked up a Saturday double sweep of the Huston-Tillotson Rams at Downs Field edging out the Rams 2-1 in the first game in route to a crushing 13-0 win in the second game of the day. The Pilots will enter the final game of the series with a rested but sun burned bullpen that did not see the mound today thanks to a pair of complete games from starters Jared Mortensen and Matt Lackie.
