LEWISTON, Idaho - Pinch runner Cody Causey dashed to third on a passed ball and sprinted across the plate on the catcher's wild throw to score the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning to earn LSU Shreveport a 3-2 victory over Embry-Riddle in the Avista-NAIA World Series at Harris Field on Monday.

LEWISTON, Idaho - Junior Cade Bowen (2-0) was credited with the win for LSU Shreveport, allowing two of the five batters he faced to collected a hit. Junior counterpart Jared Mortensen started the game, striking out seven and allowing three Lee runs on as many hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. Flame starter Shay Crawford had a no-hitter through five innings. In eight innings, the junior fanned 15 batters and issued just one free pass. He allowed four hits and surrendered two earned runs.

The LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team may be the number four seed in this year's Avista-NAIA World Series but to the children at Saint Stanislaus Tri-Parish School they are number one.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the official seedings and bracket for the 2011 Avista-NAIA World Series, hosted by Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) from May 27 - June 3 in Lewiston, Idaho. No. 1- seeded Embry-Riddle (Fla.) heads the 10-team field in the double-elimination event.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The no. 6 LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team is heading back to the Avista-World Series for the second time in school history as they defeated the Auburn University at Montgomery Senators at the AUM Baseball Complex by a final score of 32-7 in the Championship Game in the NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round.
