Baseball Sweeps Saturday's Double-Dip Versus LSUA

Alexandria, La. - The No. 6 LSUS Pilots picked up a pair of non-conference wins on Saturday afternoon, defeating Louisiana State University in Alexandria 13-6 and 12-1 at Bringhurst Field.
In game one, John James recorded his team-leading 9th win of the season and Andrew Brouillette had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Pilots to a 13-6 win over the Generals.
Brandon Bravata broke the school and conference single-season record for hit by pitches with his 27th of the season in the win.
Freshman Stephen Loupe also recorded the first hit of his collegiate career with an RBI single in the contest, while fellow freshman Kyle Pearson added a double and an RBI for the Pilots.
In the twilight game, Justin Ennis improved to 6-0 on the mound and Brouillette finished 2-for-2 with four RBIs as the Pilots picked up the sweep over the Generals.
Kyle Lawrence was 2-for-3 for the visitors with a triple, double and two RBIs.
Stephen Hobbins also double and drove in a run for the Pilots in the second game.
Brouillette finished the afternoon with four doubles to move his team-leading total to 19, while Bravata added two more hit by pitches to run his record total to 29. The NAIA national record for most hit by pitches in a single-season is 34.
LSUS (29-4) will not return to the field until next Friday night when they take on the Belhaven Blazers at 6:30 p.m at Pilot Field.
