March 26, 2009

Shreveport, La. – The LSUS Pilots baseball team continues to tap into the Benton High School pipeline, as Head Coach Rocke Musgraves announced today the signing of current Tigers Logan Norris and Alex Saunders.

“We are extremely excited about the addition of both Logan and Alex to our program next season,” said Coach Musgraves. “Both of them love to compete and they thrive in big games. Those are the type of kids we love to go get here at LSUS.”

Norris sports a 2-1 record on the mound for the Tigers, while boasting a 1.69 ERA.  He has struck out 29 batters in just 20.2 innings pitched.

Saunders is 1-1 so far this season and currently has a 2.66 ERA.  He also excels at the plate, where he is batting .436 and has 17 RBIs.

Norris and Saunders will join three former Benton Tigers (Andrew Brouillette, Craig Barnes and Kyle Lawrence) on the Pilots roster next fall.

“We’ve had a lot of success with the Benton kids and we think these two will be to make an immediate impact on our program,” added Coach Musgraves. “Coach Bryant keeps churning out good players, and we are thrilled to add two more Tigers to our roster.”
