Westwego, La.- Bobby Alvarez’s single down the right field line plated Bryan LaVoie with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning gave Loyola a 9-8 victory over LSU-Shreveport Sunday afternoon at Segnette Field.
Loyola trailed 3-1 as the game entered the bottom of the fifth inning. The Wolfpack exploded with five runs, all with two outs, in the frame to give them a 6-3 lead. Brian Mason plated the first run of the inning as the Loyola right fielder singled, scoring Chris Lizana. Later in the inning, Jerry Campos singled with the bases loaded to score Josh Borges and Mason. Andy Rodriguez followed with another single that scored Marc Jaynes. The game remained tied until the Pilot half of the seventh.
