Alexander's Goal Lifts Lady Pilots to Victory on Senior Day

Shreveport, La. – In a battle for sole possession of 2nd place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference standings, the LSUS Lady Pilots defeated Spring Hill College 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at “The Swamp.”
Senior Rachel Alexander made the most of “Senior Day” with her 7th goal of the season at the 8:28 mark to give the Lady Pilots an early 1-0 lead, and one they would not relinquish. Freshman Caitlin Smith picked up an assist on the play as she found Alexander with a beautiful pass through two Spring Hill defenders.
LSUS goalkeeper Kelsi McNew picked up the win in goal for the Lady Pilots, as she provided her team with stellar goal play once again. McNew recorded her 7th shutout on the season in the 1-0 LSUS victory.
With the win LSUS (9-4, 4-1) moves into 2nd place in the GCAC.
