#5 Pilots Win Again

December 07, 2007

Hawkins, Texas – The LSUS Pilots continued their winning ways on Thursday night with a 78-66 victory over Jarvis Christian College.

The Pilots jumped out to a quick 10-2 lead in the first two minutes of the contest and never looked back, as they cruised to their ninth consecutive win of the season.

LSUS was led by senior J’Quincy Jones who came off of the bench to score a game-high 25 points, while pulling down 10 rebounds for his first double-double on the year.

They Pilots dominated the game on the boards, outrebounding the Bulldogs 51-31 for the contest.

Senior Jamon Morris led the Pilots with 15 rebounds, and added 14 points to his total for a double-double of his own.  Morris currently leads the NAIA in double-doubles with seven.

LSUS (9-0) will take on NCAA Division 1 Northwestern State University on Saturday in Natchitoches.  The Demons are the third NCAA Division 1 opponent the Pilots will face this season, as they have already defeated both McNeese State and Centenary College earlier this season.

Saturday’s game is set for 4:00 PM.
