MCDOWELL CAPTURES 2011 NAIA COACH OF CHARACTER AWARD
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - LSU Shreveport head men's basketball coach Chad McDowell was selected the winner of the Coach of Character Award, announced today by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This award honors and recognizes a coach who demonstrates methods of teaching character through sport and instills a tradition of athletic and community excellence.

Young, Parker named NAIA All-Americans
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2010-11 Division I Men's Basketball All-America Teams on Wednesday. The selections are made by the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams. Eric Young of LSU Shreveport was selected to the First Team while his teammate Derrick Parker was selected to the Honorable Mention Team.

No. 13 Biola Fends Off Late LSU Shreveport Rally, 71-70
Kansas City, Mo. - No. 13 seed Biola (Calif.) punched its ticket to the 2011 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship quarterfinals with a 71-70 upset win over No. 4 seed LSU Shreveport Friday at Municipal Auditorium. The Eagles held LSU Shreveport to its third-lowest scoring outing of the year, one night removed from the Pilots posting a tournament-high 106 points against Life (Ga.).

No. 4 LSU Shreveport Blows Past Life, 106-80
Kansas City, Mo. - No. 4 seed LSU Shreveport earned its first trip since 2008 into the second round of the 2011 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship with a 106-80 victory against Life University (Ga.) Thursday night at Municipal Auditorium.
