  Barnum, Diakos named to RRAC Champions of Character Team

  WACO, Texas -- Beginning with the 2012-13 academic year, the RRAC will be recognizing one student-athlete from every team in every sport for sportsmanship, character and community service. Coaches for each team are charged with selecting the one player who best exemplifies the tenets of the NAIA Champions of Character program. Following are the 2012-13 basketball Champions of Character teams:

  Weightlifters to Compete in World University Championships

  Six LSU Shreveport weightlifters will be among the 15 member USA Team that will compete in the World University Championships in Taichung City, Chinese Taipei from July 1 -5, 2010.

  LSUS ATHLETES EXCEL IN CLASSROOM

  Shreveport, La.- Thirty-one LSU Shreveport athletes met the requirements for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Honor Roll for the 2009-2010 academic year: Baseball (12), Men's Basketball (2), Women's Basketball (5), Men's Soccer (1), Women's Soccer (6), and Women's Tennis (5).

  LSUS' Lifters Win Title at Weightlifting National Championships

  LSU Shreveport continued its domination of college weightlifting last weekend at the 2010 USA Weightlifting National Collegiate Championships in Marquette, Mich. For the second year in a row, LSUS won the men's, women's and coed team championships. It was the fourth consecutive national title for the men and third consecutive for the coed team.

  LSUS ATHLETICS TO DEPART FROM GCAC AND SET SAIL FOR RRAC

  Shreveport, LA-The LSU Shreveport athletics program will finish the final chapter of competing in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference at season's end. LSUS will compete in the Red River Athletic Conference beginning with the 2010-2011 season joining 13 other schools.

  Twenty-Nine Student-Athletes Make the Grade

  Shreveport, La. - Twenty-nine LSUS student-athletes were named to the 2008-09 GCAC Honor Roll, as announced earlier this week by Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Terry Harris.

  Shreveport, La. - LSUS had twenty-four student athletes qualify for the 2007-08 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Honor Roll, as announced today by Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Terry Harris.

  Shreveport, LA - Louisiana State University in Shreveport has hired Kyle Blankenship as its new Sports Information Director, according to athletics director Doug Robinson.

  Shreveport, LA---Thursday April 6th was marked as the National-Student Athlete Day throughout the country, and the LSUS Athletics program paid tribute to their student-athletes who have excelled both in the class room and in their respective sport.

  Busy week in LSUS Athletics

  Shreveport, LA---The LSUS Lady Pilots soccer team continues to welcome new members to the athletics family; men's and women's basketball are in full swing and play host to conference rival University of Mobile this Saturday night at The Dock; and LSUS baseball will return to Pilot Field for the first time since the Region XIII Tournament last May this Thursday night as they begin their quest for an NAIA National Championship.
