Transfer Student Admission Information


LSUS has a large population of transfer students in various stages of their college careers – some have earned as few as 12 hours and others have earned Associate degrees. Regardless of where you are in your education, LSUS is committed to helping your continue your education and earn your degree.
 
Regardless of age, students who have earned at least 12 term hours of college credit in non-developmental course work may transfer to LSUS if they also meet all transfer requirements. To be admitted from another regionally accredited college or university, a transfer student must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be eligible to return to the institution from which she or he is transferring;
  • Have earned at least a 2.0 GPA on all non-developmental college work attempted; and
  • Have need for no more than one developmental course. Students in need of more than one developmental course will not be eligible for admission to LSUS.

Transfer students who have not accumulated at least 12 term hours of college credit in non-developmental course work may transfer to LSUS if they meet all requirements for freshman applicants.  Also, transfer applicants who have been suspended from another college or university within the previous twelve months are not eligible for admission to the university until the suspension has expired.
