Meet our Students

High school activities that prepared for college challenges:   JROTC, since it provided leadership skills and discipline.

Factors considered in choosing major or program:   I find the study of the human mind very fascinating. That led me to choose psychology as my major.

 My Reason(s) for choosing LSUS:  LSUS is close to home, has a friendly atmosphere and is a small campus.

Campus resources that have helped him/her get the best education at LSUS:   Campus-wide computer lab and the library are very helpful when it comes to studying, writing papers and printing notes for class. The writing lab in Bronson Hall on the first floor, the math lab in Bronson Hall on the fourth floor and foreign language lab in Bronson hall on the second floor are great resources as well.

My favorite LSUS professor is (and why):   Cecilia Smith, my French 101 & 102 professor. She made the learning environment fun while teaching the courses.  

My favorite thing about LSUS (and why):   How the professors at LSUS care about their students’ success.

My LSUS club / organization memberships include:   LSUS Navigators  

A memorable moment at LSUS:   Working at Fall Fest 2009. It was a blast!

 My favorite activity outside of my coursework is:   hanging out with friends and family.

My other interests include:   reading, surfing the internet, watching TV and movies

My career goal(s) are:   to attend graduate school at LSUS to get a master’s degree in counseling psychology and hopefully become a counselor.

 "Best Advice" for a first time Freshman?   Don’t take more courses than you can handle during a semester. Do try to make as much time for studying as possible, even though there may be other things you’d rather be doing at the time. Make the most of your college experience and get involved in student organizations if you can!
