Admitted Students

Welcome Aboard
Congratulations, you've been admitted! Your hard work and dedication show us you're exactly the type of student we want at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Before you attend LSUS for the next semester, there are still a few things you need to do to officially enroll:

To-Do List

  • Visit your COMPASS account. You have a COMPASS account as soon as you apply to LSUS. (You will need your 9-digit Student ID number and PIN, which were included with your application letter, or your Social Security Number as your Student ID.) You can use your COMPASS account to see what application materials we have not yet received, update your personal information, pay your fees, and register for your classes.

  • Apply for financial aid, if you haven't already. You'll need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1, but before March 1, to be considered for need-based aid and LSUS scholarship programs.
  • Apply for housing. If you are planning to live on-campus, this is the first step we encourage all admitted students to take, even if you're not positive you will attend LSUS. Please visit www.campushousing.com/lsus for more information on our University Court Apartments.
  • Register for and attend SOAR if you are a Freshman. Only admitted first time freshman students will need to attend a Student Orientation and Registration session. The website to register for SOAR is in your acceptance letter.
  • Complete Virtual Transfer Orientation if you are a Transfer student. Transfer students must complete VTO before they are able to register for classes. After you finish VTO, call your advisor in your academic college. After you meet with your advisor, you are free to register for your classes.
  • Submit your immunization information. All students must complete the proof of immunization compliance form and submit it to the Office of Admissions and Records prior to the first day of classes. Note, all first time freshman must show proof of the meningitis shot per state legislation.
  • Keep up the good work. To maintain your status as an admitted student, you’ll need to successfully complete the high school course work (or final term for transfer students) listed on your application, maintain your solid academic performance, and demonstrate continuing academic integrity.
  • Prepare to move into your on campus apartment.
  • Get ready for your first day of classes and participate in Welcome Week events!

If you are an admitted international student, your enrollment process varies slightly from that of our domestic students. If you have questions or would like to know your application status, please send an e-mail to Darlenna.Atkins@lsus.edu or call (318) 797-5237.
