First-Time Freshmen

Undergraduate Admissions Requirements

In-State Students

  • Have completed or be on track to complete the Board of Regents High School Core curriculum.
  • Have a cumulative High School GPA of at least 2.0 (on 4.0 scale)
  • Meet both of the following ACT/SAT sub-score requirements: Cumulative CORE GPA of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) OR an ACT composite score of at least a 20 (SAT score of 1030-1050)
    • ACT English sub-score greater than or equal to an 18 (SAT ERW 500)
    • ACT math sub-score greater than or equal to a 19 (SAT math 510)

Note: If the math ACT/SAT sub-score is met and the English sub-score is within three points of the needed sub-score and all of the above requirements are met, a student could be admissible to LSUS. Additionally, if the English sub-score is met and the Math sub-score is within three points of the required sub-score the student could be admissible.

Out-of-State and Home-School Students

  • Option 1 - Meet the in-state student requirements listed above for appropriate entry term.
  • Option 2 - Have at least 17 of the 19 units of the Louisiana Board of Regents High School Core Curriculum, have a minimum cumulative and core GPA of 2.0 (on 4.0 scale), have an ACT composite score of at least 20 (SAT Combined Score of 1030-1050), and have at least an 18 English ACT sub-score (SAT 500) and a 19 math ACT sub-score (SAT 510).
  • Option 3 - Have at least a 23 Composite on the ACT (SAT Combined Score of 1130-1150) and have at least an 18 English ACT sub-score (SAT 500) and a 19 math ACT sub-score (SAT 510).

Note: If the math ACT/SAT sub-score is met and the English sub-score is within three points of the needed sub-score and all of the above requirements are met, a student could be admissible to LSUS. Additionally, if the English sub-score is met and the math sub-score is within three points of the required sub-score the student could be admissible.

Required Documentation for All First Time Freshmen:

  • Up-to-date and final high school transcripts (Please include dual enrollment transcripts if applicable.). The LSU Shreveport Admissions Office is only able to request transcripts from the state database for all Louisiana high school students who have graduated in the year 2016 or after. In the event that we are unable to obtain the transcripts, students will be required to submit them.
  • Standardized test scores (Can be sent to LSUS directly from a high school counselor or directly from ACT or College Board (SAT)). The LSU Shreveport code for the ACT is 1593 and for the SAT is 6355.
  • Proof of Immunization information (Please use the form available here.)
  • Application Fee, $20.00
