Scholarships

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ENTERING STUDENTS 

First-time, full-time freshman students may qualify for one of three guaranteed scholarships.  These scholarships, in addition to the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS), may give some students a free education!!   Your complete Admissions Application is your scholarship application.  The application deadline is July 1, for fall enrollment and December 1, for spring enrollment.   To apply click here.    

Louisiana Scholarships  
-Tuition and fees plus book allowance
-30 ACT and 3.5 high school GPA 

Red River Scholarships       
-$1,800 per semester
-26 ACT and 3.0 high school GPA

Shreveport Scholarships  
-$1,500 per semester
-24 ACT and 3.0 high school GPA

First-time, full-time freshman students who do not qualify for one of the guaranteed scholarships listed above, may qualify for the Purple and Gold Scholarship.  Purple and Gold Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed.  Your complete Admissions Application is your scholarship application. The application deadline is January 31, for fall enrollment. Purple and Gold scholarships are not available for spring enrollment. 

Purple and Gold Scholarships
-$1,000 per semester
-20 ACT and a minimum 2.5 high school GPA

First-time, full-time freshman students who do not qualify for the Louisiana, Red River, Shreveport or Purple and Gold Scholarships listed above may qualify for a LSUS Excellence Scholarship.  LSUS Excellence Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to students who academically excel, have exceptional leadership and community involvement experience, and strong school spirit and pride. LSUS Excellence Scholarships
-$500 per semester

LSU Board of Supervisors Scholarships 
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of members of the LSU Board of Supervisors to full-time and part-time students who are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs at eh various LSU System campuses.  Additional information including the application process is located on the LSU Board of Supervisors website at http://www.lsu.edu/bos/scholarship.php

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

Full-time, entering transfer students may qualify for one of two transfer scholarships.  The Twin Cities and Welcome Home Transfer Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed.  Your complete Admissions Application is your scholarship application.  The application priority deadline is May 1, for fall enrollment, and November 1, for spring enrollment.    

Twin Cities Transfer Scholarships  
-$500 per semester
-2.50 college GPA        
-Earned a minimum of 30 hours  
-Enrolled at BPCC or SUSLA the proceeding fall or spring semester before enrolling at LSUS

Welcome Home Transfer Scholarships  
-$500 per semester  
-3.00 college GPA    
-Earned a minimum of 12 hours

LSUS offers continuing student scholarships that are administered through the academic colleges and are listed below.  To apply for these scholarships contact the Dean's Office of the College.  The scholarships are primarily LSUS Foundation awards and the scholarships offered each year vary.  These scholarships are traditionally awarded to students who are working on their first bachelor's degree.
