Apply for Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office is here to assist you with obtaining the funding needed to accomplish your academic goals. The Financial Aid Office administers federal grants, loans, work study, Louisiana's Tuition Opportunity Program for Students (commonly called TOPS) and LSU Shreveport scholarships.

If you are applying for federal grants, student loans, work study and/or TOPS, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid annually. The application is completed online at www.fafsa.gov. Detailed instructions are available at "Application Process".

If you are applying for entering student scholarships, complete your admission application by January 31 for awards beginning the next academic year. If you are an entering freshman ACT scores must also be on file. Entering transfer students must submit an unofficial college transcript to the Office of Admissions and Records.

Continuing LSU Shreveport students apply for scholarships offered by the college of their major by contacting the appropriate dean's office. Students who are enrolled at LSU Shreveport are automatically considered for scholarships administered by the Financial Aid Office.
