Testing Requirements
Praxis I measures basic academic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Praxis I is available in two formats, computer-based or paper based. TeachLSUS recommends that candidates complete the computer-based Praxis I exam since it is available every day by appointment at the Prometric Testing Center located at 4350 Viking Drive Suite 3, Bossier City, LA 71111. The telephone number for the Prometric Testing Center is 318-742-7349 or visit the ETS website at www.ets.org/praxis. The estimated cost for Praxis I is $150.00.

Exemptions for Praxis I
Candidates who have earned master's degree or higher are exempt from Praxis I. Candidates with an ACT Composite score of 22+ or an SAT Combined Verbal and Math score of 1030+ are also exempt from Praxis I. All others are required to take Praxis I.
Praxis II measures subject-specific knowledge. All candidates must take and pass the Praxis II Content exam for their area of certification. TeachLSUS will only accept passing scores for the exams listed below. To register for a Praxis II exam please visit the ETS website at www.ets.org/praxis. The estimated cost for each Praxis II Content exam is $80.00.
