The Department of Education offers a variety of programs, which are intended to provide initial and advanced training for school professionals.
Currently, we have programs in Early Childhood Education (Pre K-3); Elementary Education (grades 1-5); Elementary and Secondary Education programs in Fine Arts, French and Spanish; and Secondary Education (grades 6-12), including teaching majors in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics, and Social Studies.
TeachLSUS, our post-baccalaureate alternate certification program, offers programs in Elementary Education and the previously mentioned Secondary Education areas.
Our graduate programs continue to attract quality students and offer the flexibility to allow numerous options to those students. Three advanced degrees are offered: Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (MEDCI) and the Master of Education in Educational Leadership (MEDL), and Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies (EDDLS).
