Sponsored Student Organizations
The James K. Elrod Department of Health Administration sponsors two student organizations; namely, the ACHE Higher Education Network and the MHA Student Association.
The ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) Higher Education Network
The James K. Elrod Department is a member of the ACHE Higher Education Network. This essentially constitutes a student chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and provides numerous educational resources for both students and faculty members. It is strongly advised that students of the Elrod Department join the American College of Healthcare Executives to tap into the vast resources that the organization provides, most notably including career placement services and networking opportunities. Membership is open to any student who is interested in the health care industry. The campus advisor is Dr. John L. Fortenberry, Jr.
The MHA Student Association
The James K. Elrod Department of Health Administration sponsors the MHA Student Association, a social group that permits students to engage one another outside of the classroom. At least once per semester, this organization sponsors a networking opportunity, either on or off campus. Students, alumni, and faculty are welcomed to attend these events. Membership in the MHA Student Association is automatic on gaining admission into the MHA program. The campus advisor is Dr. John L. Fortenberry, Jr.
