The Department of Mathematics offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Math majors can choose a focus area in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, math education, finance, or statistics and actuarial science.

There are faculty members with active research in each of these areas, so there are opportunities for student involvement in research projects. Other faculty-sponsored activities include community-interest projects, math contests, and travel to conferences. There is also a weekly mathematics colloquium in which faculty and students participate.
