Digital Media Certificate Program

AVE Student

The Digital Media Certificate Program is a one-year intensive program that gives students training and rapid access to digital media careers. This non-degree program includes intensive classroom study, guided lab time and is project based. Students leave the program with extensive training time in computer graphics applications and production and are prepared to enter the workforce with a quality portfolio.

Program at a Glance
Candidates must be able to attend the full-time classes (30 hours per week) for the duration of the program. Classes for 2013 are currently in progress.  New classes begin early 2014.

  • Day Session: Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Evening Session: Monday-Friday 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. .
General Criteria
  • Adult applicant (at least 18 years of age)
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to commit 30 hours per week to complete the program

  • Creativity of all kinds
  • Technical and artistic skills

Scholarships
Tuition-based scholarships are available to Caddo Parish residents. Selected Caddo Parish resident students will receive up to 98% tuition-based subsidy (Fees are not included in scholarship).

Scholarship Criteria

  • Applicants must meet the general criteria for applying to program.
  • Applicants must provide Caddo Parish Voter Registration card as proof of residency. Please visit www.caddovoter.org for more information.
  • Applicants must successfully complete the pre-certificate course and be accepted into the program.

Non-Caddo Parish Residents

  • Applicants must have the ability to pay full tuition, approximately $11,500
  • Applicants must meet the general criteria for the program.
  • Scholarships are not available to non-Caddo Parish Residents. Financial aid is not available at this time.
Applying to the Program

All applicants must submit a complete application. There is a $10 application fee. All applicants must attend the one-session Pre-Certificate course.

Admission Process

  1. Sign up and attend for the Pre-Certificate course.
  2. Submit a completed application. Click here to download the DMC application.
  3. Pay the $10 application fee in the Continuing Education office on the first floor of the Technology Center.
  4. If applying for scholarship, provide a copy of a Caddo Parish Voter Registration card.
  5. We need an official high school transcript sent directly from the school. Click here to download DMC transcript request form.
