Academic Enrichment

Study Abroad
As part of collaboration between LSUS and Germany's FHNON University in Lüneburg, LSUS students have the opportunity to study 'Issues in European Business' on location. The two-week course takes place between the spring and summer I semesters. Students earn three elective credit hours and will be back in time for Summer I and II.

Business Internship
The School of Business Internship Program offers students an opportunity to gain work experience in their chosen field, obtaining valuable real world experience, while also getting 3 hours of 400-level college credit in their major. GPA and employer restrictions apply; interested students should apply for an internship at least a semester in advance of when they wish to earn credit. Student Organizations

  • Association of Student Accountants:  The Association of Student Accountants provides an excellent opportunity for accounting majors to become actively involved in extra-curricular activities, including meeting and discussing career goals with practicing accountants.
  • Student Finance Association:  The Student Finance Association and our internship opportunities provide our students with the chance to meet and interact with professionals in the financial sector. These professional experiences often lead to greater career opportunities for participating students.
  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM):  The LSUS student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Managers has been nationally recognized for their activities, earning a Superior Merit Award in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.  Each year students organize and manage the Red Hanger Fundraiser, benefiting the local Dress for Success organization.  Students also have the opportunity to hear HR managers speak and to participate in regional meetings of the Northwest Louisiana SHRM organization, which sponsors and awards a scholarship to one deserving SHRM member annually.

Honor Societies

Students with exceptional academic achievements may be invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, or Sigma Iota Epsilon honor societies.
