Shreveport-Bossier City offers a richness of life, combining the conveniences of a big city with the warmth and hospitality of a smaller town. With a metropolitan population of more than 380,000, Shreveport offers an extensive railway system, and four major airlines.

Frequently called "A Sportsman's Paradise," the area's mild climate and beautiful parks create the perfect setting for jogging, bicycling, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, hunting and fishing. For other recreational activities, Shreveport-Bossier is home to minor league baseball, hockey, football, riverboat casinos, and horse racing at Louisiana Downs

Downtown you'll find dozens of festivals with food and music, regular theatrical productions, ballet companies, the Shreveport Symphony, and the Shreveport Opera.

Many major metropolitan cities can be found just a few short hours away form Shreveport. Cities like New Orleans, Louisiana; Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Memphis, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Jackson, Mississippi, are within traveling distance; and make wonderful weekend getaways.
