What I do now:
I am a Clinical Cardiologist at Willis-Knighton Cardiology.

My work/job consists of:
I practice cardiovascular medicine and serve the Shreveport-Bossier community with their heart health needs.

Path to my current career position (how I got from the past to the present):
After graduating from LSUS in 1981 with a BS in Science & Medicine, I went on to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to study and train in cardiology. In 2016 I also obtained a BS in Business from LSUS as part of my belief in continuing education.

How I got to LSUS (or why I chose LSUS):
I chose LSUS because it had an accelerated 6-year B.S./M.D. program.

Fond memories of LSUS:
My fondest memory at LSUS was studying while sitting in the UC mall.

LSUS faculty who helped me:
Dr. Selvestion Jimes, Biology Department, was always very encouraging and helpful to pre-med students.

How LSUS helped me succeed:
My science education at LSUS was top-flight, and it prepared me well for medical school.

Advice to college-bound students:
Aim high, work hard and chase your dreams.

Advice to someone who wants to enter my field:
Set a goal and work very hard.

Tips on choosing a major or career:
Find what you love to do, and do it.

I've learned this from life:
Try to be grateful for each and every day.

What I'd be doing if I had all the time in the world:
Reading and writing
