Lori Baynham

How I got to LSUS:
I grew up in Shreveport, great education at a very affordable price.

Fond Memories of LSUS:
I was affiliated with Delta Delta Delta sorority and I made many lifelong friends.  I had many awesome professors.

LSUS faculty who helped me:
Jim Reed, Brian Canfield, and Harvey Rubin- my favorite!

How LSUS helped me succeed:

My degree in marketing fully prepared me to own my own business.

What I do now:
Owner, Baynham Advertising

About my job:
I do advertising, merchandising and consulting exclusively for furniture retailers.

Advice to college-bound students:
Get as much education as  possible!

Advice to someone who wants to enter my field:
Seek several internships during college so you will know which area of marketing suits you best.

Tips on choosing a major of career:
Do research on the Internet to see which careers are hiring the most people (with the best benefits).

My toughest professional challenge:
I limited myself to Shreveport after graduation. Don't do that. search for jobs nationwide.

My toughest personal challenge:
Read continually so I can always improve- from books on marketing and self-improvement to negotiating techniques. Never stop learning!

Successes in my life:
ACE Award, Travelers Insurance and Volunteer of the Year, Jr. League

I've learned this from life:
You have to whole world to make it in.
