LSUS's mission of service to the community is as vital as its academic mission with the University providing a leadership role in serving the cultural and social needs of the area. Many Cultural, social and educational programs have been designed to meet the needs of Northwest Louisiana.

LSUS works with governmental agencies and the business community to enhance the growth and prosperity of this region. We respond to specific community needs with excellent teaching, research and public service, and we will continue to monitor the needs of the region and provide new and improved undergraduates and graduate degrees and public service programs to meet the needs of business, industry and residents.
